Connection and a beautiful setting ∙ Our May Cotswolds Huddle at Wild Thyme & Honey

May 2026 ∙ This month’s Cotswolds Huddle brought around 55 of our friendly and supportive community together at the ever-stunning Wild Thyme & Honey, and what a setting it proved to be. This beautiful boutique Cotswold retreat just outside Cirencester delivered exactly what the Huddle is all about: A warm welcome, fantastic hospitality, and a space that encourages genuine connection.

Relaxed and inviting atmosphere

As soon as we arrived, the tone was set. Tea, coffee and biscuits were thoughtfully laid out for us, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that made it easy for conversations to flow. The team at Wild Thyme & Honey were exceptional hosts, friendly, attentive and effortlessly professional, ensuring everyone felt looked after throughout the morning.

A storybook backdrop

The venue itself is something truly special. Set alongside the gently flowing Ampney Brook, it offers a peaceful, storybook backdrop that feels a world away from the everyday. It is the kind of place that invites you to linger, and it is easy to see why so many were already talking about returning for a leisurely lunch by the brook or an evening in one of the luxurious outdoor pods.

Exposed Cotswold stone and calming interiors

At its heart, Wild Thyme & Honey is a beautifully restored 16th-century inn, now home to 24 thoughtfully designed rooms and suites that blend historic charm with modern comfort. Each space is carefully curated with natural materials, exposed Cotswold stone and calming interiors, alongside touches such as king-sized beds, quality showers and in-room comforts that elevate the stay.

Cosy pub-style dining

Dining is equally impressive. The venue offers a choice between a cosy pub-style dining room and a more refined restaurant setting, both centred around seasonal, farm-to-table menus that celebrate local produce and elevated British classics. Whether it’s a relaxed lunch, an indulgent afternoon tea or a full evening dining experience, there is a clear emphasis on quality, flavour and thoughtful presentation.

Scandie HYGGE in the Cotswolds

What stood out most during the Huddle, however, was the feeling of the place. Beyond the design, the food and the location, there is a genuine sense of care and attention that runs through everything they do. It is a venue that manages to feel both polished and welcoming, embodying that unmistakable Scandinavian sense of hygge, where comfort, warmth and an easy, unforced atmosphere come together effortlessly.

It all came together

As always, the Cotswolds Huddle was about people, conversations, new connections and familiar faces, but the setting plays a big part in shaping the experience. At Wild Thyme & Honey, it all came together perfectly.

Fabulously captured by Rupert Marlow

A big thank you, as ever, to Rupert Marlow of Three Pin Media, who captured today’s Huddle so fabulously. His laidback style perfectly reflects the friendly atmosphere and easy energy that defines the Huddle.
